Global Week of Action against Small Arms in Cambodia 

On 28 May, 2006, WGWR conducted a campaign, Global Week of Action against Small Arms. 

The Objectives of Global Week of Action against Small Arms:
- To show achievement of Royal Government of Cambodia on SALW until present day
- To announce most success of collecting Million Face Petition in Cambodia and to collect more draw faces through the event
- To encourage Royal Government of Cambodia to take initiative for action on SALW in region, especially to actively participant in UN Review Conference-which will be held on June 26, 2006 in New York.

94 volunteer students from Universities and Youth Groups worked with WGWR staff on Global Week of Action campaign on May 28, 2006 in Phnom Penh City. The venue of campaign was located near very crowded riverside.

During this day, over 2,500 drew faces were stick on white canvas, 60 meters,  to show to the public and also have a music band to attract the attention from the public. These activities amused and attracted 18,873 audiences

Moreover, 10 local media, Kos Santepheap, Cambodia Daily, Rasmey Kampuchea, Kampuchea Thmei, Rasmei Sereypheap, AKP newspaper, Radio VOA, TV5, TV CTN, came to get information about this campaign and to broadcast. Mr. Prak Tepvichet, Acting Executive Director of WGWR, provided interview with CTN TV and VOA. All of media published and broadcasted in favor to our campaign objectives, especially the announcement of WGWR to government for Statement to RevCon.

Volunteer students were divided into 9 groups to conduct Million Face Petition collection campaign, and explained to the public about the need of Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). As result, 3,483 Faces were collected just only 4 hours.

Totally, Cambodia has collected around 89,000 Faces so far.
