A National Conference co-organized between the National Commission for Weapons Reform and Management (NC) and the Working Group for Weapons Reduction (WGWR) is planned to take place in the near future. The main purpose of the National Conference is to provide a national forum between representatives from civil society, the Royal Government of Cambodia, the governors of each province, the international community, and small arms experts to discuss and consult together on the remaining SALW challenges and formulating practical and effective measures to deal with those challenges in the near future. As part of this, the National Conference aims at discussing and collecting input on the possibility of initiating a drafting procedure of a national strategic action plan on small arms and light weapons and its effective implementation for further efforts to promote a safe, secure, and developing environment in Cambodia.
